Qingdao Histar® hosted its inaugural "Craftsman Skills Competition," where 20 frontline technicians competed in disassembling, cleaning, calibrating, and reassembling the HS-200 fusion splicer. Quality control team leader Mr. Wang won first place with an error-free performance in 8 minutes and 15 seconds.
A highlight of the contest was the "blind assembly" challenge, simulating low-light field conditions to test technicians’ muscle memory of the device’s structure. After the competition, winning technicians created training videos for new hires, with practical tips like the "3-Step Electrode Replacement Method" now included in standard operation manuals. "Even small competitions matter—every screw’s torque affects splicing precision," said the Production Manager, announcing monthly skill contests to build a "hands-on talent development system."
At the awards ceremony, participants received customized toolkits, and the GM pledged, "Our technicians’ craftsmanship is the lifeline of Histar® products. We’ll keep creating growth opportunities so every role can shine."
