As Qingdao’s temperature soared to 35℃, Histar® kicked off its "Summer Cooling Initiative," delivering heat relief supplies and services to workshop and R&D teams. Besides daily iced mung bean soup and plum juice, industrial coolers were installed in production areas to maintain temperatures below 28℃, while field engineers received "cooling kits" with sun-protective sleeves and portable fans.
To combat heat-induced fatigue, the company adjusted summer working hours to "8 AM-5 PM with a 1-hour lunch break," opening a rooftop garden rest area with board games and a mini-library. "Playing billiards under the shade at noon helps me focus better in the afternoon," said R&D engineer Xiao Li.
The program also included heatstroke prevention training by community doctors and emergency first-aid kits on every floor. "In a small company, making employees feel at home matters more," said the Admin Supervisor, announcing plans for a "Family Open Day" to invite relatives into the factory and strengthen team cohesion.
