Histar®’s R&D team announced a key breakthrough in HS-200 fusion splicer electrode technology, increasing lifespan from 3000 to 5000 discharges (87.5% improvement) while reducing energy consumption by 25%. Field tests by 50+ small contractors in Shandong and Hebei showed a 40% lower maintenance cost compared to similar products.
The innovation stemmed from after-sales feedback about frequent electrode replacements affecting outdoor work efficiency. Engineers collaborated with production technicians to analyze over 200 worn electrodes over six months, discovering that traditional coatings suffered from ion migration in high humidity. By adopting aerospace-grade anti-oxidation materials and 3D-printed custom fixtures, they achieved dual improvements in longevity and energy efficiency.
"Big value comes from small tweaks," said the R&D Supervisor, demonstrating the upgraded electrodes. Existing customers can request free electrode replacements without changing devices. With a "Basic Device Renewal Program" planned for next year to upgrade more legacy products—using "micro-innovations" to continuously enhance customer value.
